mix-mix!

I enjoyed seeing my father getting a "brain-freeze" and my mother explaining to me what "Halo- Halo" meaning "to mix". The Filipino dessert has kaong (sweet palm fruit), macapuno (silky coconut), langka (jackfruit), munggo (mung beans), saba (banana-like plantain), ube (purple yam), mais (corn), nata de coco (coconut gelatin), pinipig (dried rice, pounded), sago (pearls similar to boba) Topped off with shaved ice, evaporated milk and a scoop of ice cream. Make sure you mix it and trying not to spill will mixing takes some practice! Mmm sooo good on a summer day in the valley.

The Fool and the Wise Man must die

1To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Forever changed the face of music, impacted our lives with his passion for music, dance, & entertainment. You will be missed.
rest in peace
Michael Jackson

transformers

the movie was a bit long. Felt like it wasn't going to end. Hated when the robot dudes conversed with each other, deciding a plan. I couldn't take it seriously. The movie had action, bad language, sexual content, drug use and what not. I always enjoy watching the young and handsome Shiloh Labuff and the beautiful Megan Fox. I can't forgot the "woos" in the theater for her, quite amusing and made things and the movie, quite interesting. I believe she has started a white-tapered jean trend. The movie is definitely a summer blockbuster. But nothing too special.

charge nurse

3rd time now and... im getting it! Last night i was only 6 minutes over! I actually impressed myself! Today is my day off, Wednesdays and Mondays are my days<3>
---------------

I have yet to pick up the new Iron Age record. Looking forward to seeing them soon. July isn't too far from now. It's going to be an epic month for my summer.

Looked for plane tickets for Guadalajara, Mexico this October for the wedding, found some that were super cheap. I need to get on that! The search for the perfect dress took place this morning. I take Diane Von Furstenberg into consideration! I'm in love with her collection.

well well well

Couldn't get up at 3:50am. So I am here alone in my home. This part of los angeles feels empty and quiet. Everyone was at the parade along Figueroa and ceremony at the LA Coliseum...In the time being alone, my mother called me from Florida, that they had just arrived. I told her how bad the night before was at work & the encouraging words of wisdom from most people as well. She eventually shared her own and stayed on the phone with her for a good 25 minutes. I can't remember the last time i talked on phone with my mother that long. She told me Dad was joking about asking her if she wanted to move to Houston, Texas because of the cheaper homes, in other words mansions they had.

_6PM
when my sisters and geo came back from the ceremony all sun- burnt and tired, hannah and i went to Eagle Rock's graduation ceremony, about 2 mins from home taking place at Occidental College. Our friend graduating didnt have any more tickets so we went through the back to enter. there we got in and met up with everyone else. Hearing the speeches and watching the whole grad ceremony, all of a sudden didnt mean so much as it did when i graduated back in 05. High school was easy and couldn't compare to college. These kids dont know what they are headed for..the real world basically. And after the ceremony, i see kids crying and hugging, thinking they will be friends forever when all i know is that when i graduated..we all separated and eventually try to make plans to "hang" but never seem to come through. It all changes after high school. You just find new people to "hang" with. College friends maybe? or co-workers. And some fortunately do keep in touch.

being in a sponeneous mood, hannah and i head to hollywood to relax and see the sights, get some dinner. We sat on the 3rd floor on the balcony of the Hollywood and Highland complex talking about how neat it is to feel so much at home.... We love la.

there's a first for everything

at East Station at the hospital tonight. Just after a day of orienting there as well. CHAOS is all i could remember. Not being able to take a break, eat, go to the restroom or breathe til 7 hours into working. I didnt get any help til the last hour. All the nurses told me that i will get use to this or become familiar with everything at least. I've never been so stressed. I didn't get done with everything + documentation til 12am. Just 30 minutes past!
i will never forget my first day by myself passing medication, etc...

I wonder if I will be able to get up in 2 hours to line up for the Laker's championship ceremony. I prepared my clothes and set my alarm and stoof...

i need to quit...

... complainin'. That's what's up.

i work full time now with a schedule I'm not too fond of. my first initial answer was no. but when i talked to more people about it, i then convinced myself that this is an opportunity that i should take. i left jamba that same day, no two -week notice. just straight up, "i can't stay with the company anymore". It wasn't my intention to do that, i just received the call out of no where from my director of nursing. I made the right move. It will credit my future in nursing and bigger things.

thank you to everyone who has supported me, who continues to support me.

(cont')

crusties, metal heads, punks...thrashinnn

trap them was not bad at all. THe vocals were very pleasing to my ears.

before Waste went on, all you hear is haunting sounds onto "Oh Yeah" by Yello go on and it starts thee excitement of the free show. They start playing and kids start slamming, the occasional stage dives and head banging starts. Crusties jumping off the balcony onto the ocean of interesting looking people. It was the lead's birthday so he announced they will be singing 69 songs. One the songs they let a fan sing all by himself. It looked like they were having a lot of fun. The fan was pretty good & his name was ZAPPOS(Zo-pos)! Right after, the lead cheered and screamed "LA, you just got ZAPPOS-ED!" The lead or any of the guys didn't annoy my ears with statements or talking down to anyone, they never bitched, though they joked alot and spoke with confidence about their band and announced every song with pride! I really enjoyed that they were not so serious, just had fun & played with alot of energy:) I will never forget the sights, the sounds, the ridiculous song titles, the smell of vomit in the back, or the look of the nappy perms of these crusties! It was a different experience and out of the ordinary for me. I love metal.

ended the night with the famous Pink's hotdogs. I destroyed a monster called the bacon chili cheese dog smothered in tomatoes and onions. my mouth is watering just thinking about it. 30 min wait i think, but totally worth it. remember, cash only!

should i stay or should i go?

Having two jobs can get a little crazy.
but then again 4 hour shifts aren't too bad.
i kinda dont want to leave jamba & it's minimum wage...
keeps me sane in a way.
besides, it smells better than a hospital...

today 12 to 5pm.

don't get me wrong, i am grateful to have not one but two jobs.

letting go

What if she finally relaxed to let the gusts have their way?
Would it be so bad to know weightless, carelessness this time.
Let's see where we land.
Save your strength, you'd fare no better with the flock

june gloom

the air in eagle rock hasn't been this fresh in a while!

and summer was about to begin.
it's going to be a good summer, i know it.

it's about time!

dream, dream, dream

I wake up from dreams of signs of dates on the calender from past to present, marriage, my family, my mother, who will always be my mother in my dreams or in real life, dreams of finding things I've lost & finding them. Today i woke up to one saying "Let it be". The song is still stuck in my heard at the moment. I not only have dreams but nightmares of course. Those, i am not fond of. I'm not sure if my dreams mean anything, but I'm already been told they mean nothing. I believe some do have some sort of meaning. I believe dreams come true. Going to Disneyland this past month made that evident. "Where dreams come true!" It had to be the most perfect day with Daniel & at Disney itself. Everything went right & I've never been so in love.

I've dreamnt of where i am today in my career and i can say...dreams come true.

O' June!

For Monday's event's, I spent half the day with my 15-year old sister, who made evident of her age as she ate with me at one of my favorite restaurants. Everything she tried, she'd pick up with her fingers and throw them back on the plate saying how gross it was and how crazy i was for ordering raw fish in my Philadelphia rolls. She asked for a Shirley temple, non-alcoholic of course. She was excited, just how i was when i heard of such a drink that had nothing more of grenadine syrup, ginger ale and sprite! Then she complained of the tip I left & said to leave a $2 dollar tip instead. I told her she didn't understand and that we needed to leave a better tip than that. Right after, we saw the new Disney movie "Up" in 3rd Dimension. And learned that to see it in 3D would be $5 more. I had nothing to complain about. How often do you see a movie in 3rd dimension. The movie was an adventurous, love story. A 78-year old widower ties up like 1000 balloons to the top of his house to fly away and fulfill his wife's dream of going to the lost worlds of South America..and so on, along with an 8 year old wilderness explorer named Russell. It's by far one of the most well done pixar films i've ever seen. You should definitely go see it, if you haven't!

i need new glasses again. I'm beginning to think my house is too big. Im losing a bunch of my stuff and am unable to find anything :(
