pop glockin'

universal studios a 2nd time around I was charged $20 dollars(preferred parking) on my debit card and given a "General Parking" $12 ticket...BUT didn't realize it til i got home that night. idiot me. Other than the last time we went, we visited Backdraft, the Backlot Tram Tour and a special effects show i actually volunteered for. That went well except for the part a "robotic" wolf attacked me at the end of the show. My love for wolves? where did it go??? My partner volunteer was Australian and was such a gentleman. His accent was crazy...I also finally got to meet Doc from Back to the Future. It was suchhh an honor....Did i tell you we got on a Spanish tram for the backlot tram tour? Why yes...we did. I didn't even know they had it in different languages! We couldn't get in the House of Horrors, thanks to my jamba juice that i was holding in my right hand. I happily left the building :) STOKED i didnt have to go in :) uh huhhh i chickened out. Thank you Jamba Juice. *thumbs up. Of course i couldn't get through the park without a churro. oof. so good. The mummy ride is our favorite. We try to get on it as much as we can. All the waiting in lines and amusement built a big appetite for dinner. Italian came to mind. Veggie Louie's pizza slices, pasta chicken alfredo all to myself. Because of our dinner feast, we missed the last showing for Creature from the Black Lagoon musical. There is always next time.

After leaving the park, we were entertained by a pop-locking dude outside citywalk. Not sure why we stood out there for 20 min watchin' him pop lock to weird robot music and michael jackson songs im not too fond of. It was also 65 degrees outside with 60 degree winds. yes, its summer in cali, but so cold! Couldn't help my shopping addiction, stopped by Abercrombie & fitch because i heard in the news their sales were dropping so most of their clothes would be on sale. And a sale it was! i picked up 2 items and a something for my sister. She wondered why the clothes smelt like cologne, to her it was a good thing. Do they spray that cologne everywhere!? And of course, Sparky's for some souvenirs. Lil California license plate with my name on it. *siiighhh I was beat after all of that.

"Play ball!"

Ive lived in L.a. my whole life and havent been to a basketball game or baseball game. Ive been to a Kings Hockey game.... But today i got to go to my first baseball game. It was Dodgers vs. Cardinals. We sat Left Field. Perfect during batting practice. Not too big on Dodgers, sorry in advance. Im more for Angels :) Not too big on baseball either but this game was alright watching when you're there, in the stadium with all those fans. Now watching it on tv is a different story, well for me it is. I have yet to go to a Laker game. October? November? Most definitely this coming b-ball season. So, blue was the color everyone wore, some with red for the Cardinals. "Stupid little bird!" kids chanted behind us. It made me laugh. other chants like "test him!" for ramirez. Most of the crowd, enthusiastic, excited about, focused on game. I dont know much that goes on in baseball but i cheered, sang along and clapped for each score we l.a. made. "Take me out to the ball game..." We got to sing to this song and i held some cracker jacks and ate some while we sang" The crowd got the wave goin. I got it on video, just havent uploaded it. Pretty neat site. Unfortunately i didnt catch a ball with my bare hand and the Dodgers lost. I want to go to another game soon and seeing everyone with their family's was nice too. I pictured taking my own family to a game in the future for sure.

Had some pinks hot dogs to end the long day. I had a Baja Vegan dog accompanied Dr. Brown's Black Cherry Cream Soda. My stomach was feelin the churro, corona, coke, cracker jacks, nachos with salsa and cheese AND 8 chicken nuggets later that night. Waited an hour in line while being threatened by a Cav's fan saying "LA BETTER WATCH OUT. THE LAKERS BETTER BE READY" Listening to her was cringing. I laughed after she vented out and said..."righhhhhht, cav's better watch out *clears throat" . ....HEH, tourists make me lole. I dozed off once while waiting in the line. Was it worth the wait? haha...not sure.

to pacoima and back

hung out in jesse's hood of pacoima. there wasn't much to do there so we headed out to hollywood and wanted to be spontaneous. The both of us have never been to the Hollywood Wax Museum. $16 a piece. It was pretty ghetto and maybe not worth $16 bucks but i've always wanted to visit the museum, so i did and i dont regret it!
hung out at hollywood most of the night
and ended it with some Mi Pueblito tacos on Van Nuys Blvd. mmm

Bob Seger

apparently Bob Seger wrote a song about my relationship....

"Hollywood Nights"
She stood there bright as the sun on that california coast
He was a midwestern boy on his own
She looked at him with those soft eyes,
So innocent and blue
He knew right then he was too far from home he was too far from home

She took his hand and she led him along that golden beach
They watched the waves tumble over the sand
They drove for miles and miles
Up those twisting turning roads
Higher and higher and higher they climbed

And those hollywood nights
In those hollywood hills
She was looking so right
In her diamonds and frills
All those big city nights
In those high rolling hills
Above all the lights
She had all of the skills

Hed headed west cause he felt that a change
Would do him good
See some old friends, good for the soul
She had been born with a face that would her
Get her way
He saw that face and he lost all control
He had lost all control

Night after night, day after day, it went on and on
Then came that morning he woke up alone
He spent all night staring down at the lights of la
Wondering if he could ever go home

And those hollywood nights
In those hollywood hills
It was looking so right
It was giving him chills
In those big city nights
In those high rolling hills
Above all the lights
With a passion that kills

In those hollywood nights
In those hollywood hills
She was looking so right
In her diamonds and frills
All those big city nights
In those high rolling hills
Above all the lights
She had all of the skills

thai day

always rushing before my work days. my friend and i wanted to have lunch. We ate at Thai Dishes in O-town pasadena. It's about 5 minutes from the hospital so it was perfect. BUT, i was late anyways. About 10 minutes late. Im really picky about thai food restaurants because i just think Thai BBQ restaurants beat them all, but this one was an exception. Now service on the other hand? Not very good. I had to get up and get my check and then bring it to them. That was annoying. Especially being in a hurry. We were 2 out of the 5 customers .

I owe you a drank jawny

socal residents only

We got our u-studios passes. taking advantage of the 6 months we get for free as cali residents! Ever since i started working full time as a nurse, my off days are totally taken advantage of. I try to do as much as i can and get really bummed when i can't do anything! We spent half the day at u-studios. All-American Rejects were filming at conan's studio. lole. It was our first time riding the Simpsons ride. It's always creepy when it has something to do with "side-show bob" and carnival stuff. I was surprised how much Pandas had to do with the ride. Very random. Riding jurassic park for me is always scary. I hate the drop and it ends to fast. A little girl was by herself and bragged about how her mom let her go on by herself. She ended up sitting between my sister and i. She told us how brave she is and where not to look while we were going 1 mile per hour on the ride. We asked her if she knew that the ride was based on a movie..her answer? "no, i didnt know that" We told her to see it. I always forget how drenched you get on this ride. We looked like we just had a shower. Hello frizziness. We had dinner at Camacho's that night. I had my favorite, thee cheese and chicken enchilada with sweet mole sauce. mmmm. It was a chill night.

cool guys don't look at explosions...

chaos at work today. Im always super tired on sundays because of my schedule. thurs-sat 3-1130pm, and sunday 7am-330. After getting off. I rushed home to get my sisters to go meet up with the cuzins in huntington beach. Not being familiar with the area, we get lost for like an hour i think. It was super cold too so that sucked. My cuzin had a little too much fun playing with the gas and bon fire that night. We almost were killed. Long story short? There was a bit of an explosion after a attempt to get the fluid tank out of the bon fire. It scared everyone around us. After an embarassing moment we all decided to leave haha.

last day with you

Said see ya later to spencer, then returned the rental with his mother this morning. Headed over to Studio City, Ca to get some breakfast at good neighbor restaurant. I had a cesar salad. It never ceases to amaze my tongue. I had to share it! I ordered the Chicken Tarragon, smothered in mushroom sauce. Yum-O! We chatted and enjoyed our breakfast together. Then it went to paying up front, what do i do? i forget to tip, realizing it when we got in the car! WE stormed out like we didnt know.

He dropped me off and we said our "see you laters" shed some tears, although it is always hard to do such a thing. It was like a never ending cycle of make out sessions! Just couldnt let him go! We aren't sure when we will see each other again but we made it clear that we would. the wedding in mexico, october, are in the making and my plans to visit him are in the making as well. Im looking at january. My birthday month. We then there in front of my home was separated by a incoming car and i let him go, blowing a kiss. I watched him drive away, farther and farther away from me. distance makes the heart grow fonder, well in that case, for me it does.

I miss him already...

La la land

it was chris, my boy and i. The Yardhouse in Pasadena, CA was our next stop to have some brewsky and a few bites to eat. There i enjoyed a hoegarden, blue crab cake and sipped a chocolate flavored beer. i forget the name but it was quite good. Shared stories and our love for bob segar. ended with a macadamian nut cheesecake. My favorite desserts. Stopped by his old workplace in Northridge to hang out for a bit. And a random dinner at shakey's. Alot of driving, killing time for us i remember most that night.

It was nice seeing his mom after. I have a good feelin she likes me, haha. I meant to get pick up her favorite cake from Portos, but couldnt find time to do that. She is really sweet. :)

we lost track of time watching robot chicken and ended up staying over.

aww mom dont cry!

I came home with my bags and one of them the gift bag from coach and my mother asked if it was mine and i told her "its yours!" It literally brought her to tears! She kept kissing me on my cheek and forehead, tellin me thank you and that the bag was beautiful. She was excited i could tell haha.

day 3

last day already!? Still havent hit the beach for some reason. I really wanted to. A little late to check out, but we made it :) Packed up and left the home away from home. Hometown buffet awaited us this time. lole. DIdnt eat much, never have an appetite for buffets for some reason. Traveled back to the disorganized festival , waiting almost 2 hours outside bfore getting in. Finally inside, realizing there are ins and outs this time. Being stoked about it. We pick up enough merch to empty our wallets, not much but just enough for us. Hung out for a little bit then decided to leave for the beach. The beach was a bit of a travel but it was totally worth it. The water was freeezing! Not pleasant to be in but i was very happy to be with my love. It was a highlight for both of us that weekend. Killed some time there and headed back to watch the rest of the bands. We got hungry so we took advantage of the "in and outs" . Had some tacos and a beer at some restaurant that didnt care to card us both. Those tacos were amzing. im craving some right now! By the time we got back, On was in the middle of their set. I walked in alittle closer and someone socked the right side of my face. It was a nice surprise/welcome back to the festival. As the day
progressed, everyone sat around worn out from the short weekend in oxnard. Pieces of plastic like frisbees and 99 cents beach balls amused us while we waited between sets. I forgot how amusing to see people getting hit onthe head with a frisbee. I got to throw it and it didnt go far but i got a kick out of it. I think Sabertooth Zombie should always play saff. There crowd is as entertaining as they are. SHook Ones are a favorite to sing along and dance to. Always impressed with their energetic sets. The Rival Mob started with a song most the crowd didnt know what to do with but played a set that was memorable. I was stoked to finally see them live. THeir set i anticipated the most. I hope to see them more in so cal. Reign Supreme is ready to play bigger and better music festivalls, shows. This band is going to be big! their new stuff is great, its louder, its harder. Watch out first blood! Dude's getting ripped and more ripped! Everyone knows who Betrayed is and we all enjoy their sets, singing along. Non-stop stage dives,
applauding between the straight-edge bands songs. They continue being inspirational with their words, lyrics, energy & positive attitude towards life. I think it was great how they admitted things theyve done and why. Respect to that. The new stuff is great as well. Well, they are back, Boston's Guns Up! that is. Over the past 2 years, they've had uncooperative crowds, kids on stage. Make it thisyear as well. Towards the end of the set, a fist fight between the security guard and a kid on stage went down. There was a lil brawl and pepper spray involved and a few several cop cars. Drama? totally. That proceeded and Guns up! finished their set...leaving a "suprise" ...tt outside. yeahh..suprise suprise. Sound and Fury for the most part disappointed me, leaving me questioning "am i going next year?" Its going to take a hell of a good line up! They gotta make up for this year. Maybe i expected too much? just me? I was just happy to have my man around this time around.

day 2

Ihop awaited us. Always better than Denny's. I ordered a sampler, a little bit of everything. Towards the end of breakfast, i hadnt finished food, but our server just took my plate! And i wanted to take it to go! I got over it.
After, we drove to Camarillo and checked out the outlets. There we browsed Saks Fiftth Avenue, Levi's, Vans and Coach. Left with a pair of eco vans for daniel and a coach purse for mom. I was excited to get it to mom. I told her id get her one, but not this soon! looking forward to her reaction. Again back to the disorganized festival. The only reason why there wasnt a line to wait in was because we got there around 4. Missed New lows, another disappointment. My fault of course. It started off smooth then rocky. Not much to say about that. Rotting Out is getting better and better. Big ups to them. Violation are always a favorite to hear live. Bracewar are fun to watch. Cold world as well. Their fans were present for sure. Title Fight was amazing. Wished i heard more about that before i saw them. Floorpunch made all things better for me that night. It was definitely a treat and a privilege to see them live. Another dream come true. And ended the night with grub, feelin worn out we still stayed up most of the night.
